A lumbering giant

U.S. Lumber is the leading distributor of specialty building materials in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic United States. They sell their products through local lumber yards and building supply dealers who then serve professional remodelers and home builders. In order to make their ecommerce site easier for customers to use, they needed help organizing their various product catalogs and thinking through how business customers and their end-consumers could generate custom product quotes. And they wanted to go live as quickly as possible. That’s when FortyFour stepped in.

Moving quickly from concept to launch

To solve for their quoting challenges and allow for multi-storefront execution, we replatformed them to Magento. Our design and user experience teams collaborated on a user interface toolkit that would create a unique and identifiable design system for the brand’s digital experience. Time was of the essence, so we created robust wireframes and the UI toolkit that allowed us to skip designing out each individual page of the site. Instead, our development team used the wireframes and design tools to push the entire website live very quickly.

Improving the B2B customer

Ultimately, we extended the out-of-the-box B2B functions of their site and delivered a custom product quoting tool that made formerly complex purchasing processes simple for their customers. We look forward to watching as their online sales, and overall business, continue to grow.
